Remote Access History

There are two campus-wide coordinating computing councils:
  • The Academic Computing Coordinating Council - AC4, which reviews proposals and plans that seek to promote the use of technology in instruction, research and public service; and the
  • Administrative Computing Coordinating Council - AdC3, which focuses on the administrative uses of information technology. Both groups make recommendations to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor.
Reports
  • Remote Access Management Program (RAMP) Report - (10/1998)
    Report about the RAMP, which was a series of pilot projects conducted by the division of Information Technology. The RAMP report provides a history of remote access at UC Davis, summarizes current campus remote access needs and offers recommendations.
  • Thirteen Remote Access Principles - (2/1999)
    "To focus the (remote access) discussion, the AC4 developed and approved on February 8 the thirteen remote access principles..."
  • Remote Access Project (RAP) Report - (4/1999)
    Addresses the state of the remote access modem pools prior to the Summer 1999 upgrade.
